Our Practice

 

Stellar Therapy is an outpatient rehabilitation center staffed with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and massage therapists. We believe that during rehabilitation, our patients should be educated to maintain maximum flexibility and pain-free living long after our work ends.

 

Our therapists have successfully worked with all types of injuries and we work on patients of any age. We offer a customized evaluation and rehabilitation program for the individual needs of each patient. We believe the effectiveness of manual therapy in treating a wide range of neuro-musculoskeletal problems, and it encompasses a number of therapeutic disciplines that use hands-on techniques to make changes in the way the body functions.

Andrew Woolward, MS, OTR/L

Co-Founder

Clinical Director

Occupational Therapist 
 

Andrew Woolward graduated from Long Island University in 2005 with combined Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Occupational Therapy. Prior to attending Long Island University, he attended Brooklyn College of The City University of New York where he graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education with a focus on Exercises Sciences and Rehabilitation. Andrew was inducted into the Brooklyn College Hall of Fame in 2017, a four-year starter for the Bulldogs men's volleyball team, helping them to a CUNYAC title in 1998 and earning all-conference honors for three-straight seasons.

 

Since beginning a career as an Occupational Therapist, Andrew has worked in the areas of pediatrics, outpatient orthopedics, short-term and long-term care facilities as well as in home care services. Throughout his 15+ years of work in a variety of settings, Andrew has devoted his career to facilitating the developmental and functional improvement of patients with a variety of physical and developmental challenges.

 

His passion and commitment to his patients leads him to continue attending and participating in numerous continuing education courses in the areas of functional orthopedics, NDT, PNF, Upper Extremity Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation and Pediatric Rehabilitation. This facilitates Andrew's ability to apply innovative and proven therapeutic techniques, modalities, and methods in his work with adults and children with various orthopedic, neurological, and developmental musculoskeletal impairments.​

When not practicing as an Occupational Therapist, Andrew is an avid and dedicated athlete who enjoys training and participating in volleyball and triathlons. Andrew is currently the head coach of Hunter College Women's Volleyball team. 

 

Steve Ko, DPT

Co-Founder

Clinical Director

Physical Therapist 

 

Steve Ko received his Doctoral of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College in 2005. He has been working with adult orthopedic and geriatric population in various settings. Steve's experiences include treating patients with joint replacements, amputations, cardiac/pulmonary issues, falls risk, and general de-conditioning, among others. Steve has also been working with children with various diagnoses, commonly categorized under the umbrella term "multiply handicapped".

Included in this diagnostic group are children with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and other neurologic impairments, all coupled with orthopedic issues requiring skilled therapeutic management. Steve has come across many patients and touched many lives to help improve and regain their functional abilities. 

 

Steve is a dedicated athlete and competes in triathlons around the world. Steve is also a competitive snowboarder. 

 

Steve speaks English and Korean.

 

Siddharth Ghosh, MS, DPT

Staff Physical Therapist

 

Siddharth Ghosh graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka College of Physiotherapy in India. He continued his medical education at Long Island University, where he completed a master’s degree in the field of athletic training.

 

Patient visiting can receive a full range of physical therapy services. He provides therapeutic exercises, as well as general physical therapy consultations, specialized in kinesio taping. 

 

Siddharth speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi. 

 

Vertika Goel, MS, DPT

Staff Physical Therapist

 

Vertika Goel received her Bachelors and Masters in Physical Therapy from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India. She also received her Doctoral of Physical Therapy Degree from Loma Linda University, California in 2017. She has been working 12+ years holding both India and USA clinical experience. Her expertise is in the field of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

She has been working with adult orthopedic and geriatric population in various settings. Her training and experience include unique competencies in the area of joint replacement, shoulder care, spine problems, and sport injuries.

She received her Masters in Pediatric and treated children and neurological impairments such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and traumatic injuries in Pediatric. She encountered various patients and improved their functional activities.

Vertika is a dedicated PT and her curiosity helps her grow and do new things such as aquatic therapy, as she believes water makes recovery fair.

 

She speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and progressively learning conversational Spanish.

Chieh (James) Teng, DPT, CSCS

Staff Physical Therapist

James Teng received his Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy and Assistive Technology from National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. He later continued his education and received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York University.

 

James has worked with various orthopedic populations including athletes, children, and geriatrics. He has special interests in orthopedics and sports-related injuries and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), making him well-versed in designing strength and conditioning exercises for his patients and athletes of all different levels. James is also a certified Rock Steady Boxing Clinician, a non-contact exercise program designed for people with Parkinson’s disease.

 

James speaks English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.
